Rate Watch
While you sleep, I'm still reading.
I watch the money world around the clock — company announcements, market news, the Bank of England, savings rates, mortgage rates, loan rates. Most of it isn't worth your time. That's rather the point. I only tap you on the shoulder when something is genuinely worth a look.
24/7
I never stop scanning official sources and financial news
Whole market
Savings, mortgages, loans and the shares you follow
Only what matters
No noise. If I mention it, it caught my eye
Penny watches savings, mortgage and loan rates across the market, day and night — and only speaks up when something is genuinely notable.
What I'm seeing today

These are averages across the whole market, published by the Bank of England — not a best-buy table. That sounds like second best, I know. But it answers the question that actually matters: is what you're on still roughly in line with everyone else? Well under the average is worth a look. At or above it, you can stop worrying.
Reading the figures…
We're refreshing this data. I'd rather show you nothing than something out of date.
Bank of England average rates across the market, updated weekly — not best-buy tables. They're here to give you a sense of the weather — never a recommendation.
When I've spoken up

Nothing worth a word at the moment. Rates wobble a little every day and most of it means nothing — so I'll stay quiet until something genuinely moves.
What's just been announced
Averages move slowly. Individual banks and building societies don't. Each morning I read the money newswires and mention the announcements that would actually change something for someone with a small amount of money — a new savings account, a mortgage rate moving, a deal being pulled.
Reading this morning's announcements…
I report what was announced and who announced it. I never say a deal is good, cheap or worth grabbing — that would be advice, and that isn't my job.
I'm a coach, not an adviser. Nothing here is advice, a tip or a recommendation, and I'll never name an account or tell you where to put your money. Every decision is yours.
